Rihanna has revealed that her father was addicted to crack cocaine when she was younger.

Although he’s now recovered, she says she saw first-hand the damage drugs wreck. She was left to help raise her 2 younger brothers.

‘I was always mature for my years because of the parental part of it,’ she says.

Rihanna says it means she’ll never be tempted to go off the rails.

‘I’ve seen up close what effect those things can have. I would never want to put myself in that situation,’ she tells The Guardian.

‘It would be very careless and just not smart at all.’

Rihanna leaves her downtown Manhattan hotel and gets a manicure and pedicure at the 8th Street Dashing Diva nail salon on Thursday night.

She rocked out a purple tie-dye scarf, matching slippers and of course, toe separators!

Enjoying a night out in the Big Apple, Rihanna was spotted out sans Chris Brown - dining out at her favorite spot before hitting up a party on Wednesday (July 30).

To kick the evening off, she enjoyed a meal at Da Silvana restaurant in the West Village, dressed casually in jeans with a white sleeveless top/scarf combo.

After heading back and changing clothes, she headed back out on the town - turning heads in a Herve Leger bandage dress in black, pink and silver.

Not long from now, Rihanna is scheduled to perform at the 4th Annual Fashion Rocks benefit at New York’s Radio City Music Hall (September 5). She also finds herself nominated for Best Female Video as part of the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, airing live from Paramount Studios in Hollywood on September 7.

Rihanna and Chris Brown continued their tour of the Mid-Atlantic region over the weekend. After last week’s trip to King’s Dominion amusement park, the duo were jet skiing in Maryland on Saturday. Virgina native Chris’s family was around for water fun, where Rihanna showed off that bikini body underneath her life vest. Both Rih and Chris had VMA nominations to celebrate in the Best Female/Best Male Video categories. As for Chris’s most recent hit song, “Forever,” an interesting fact came to light today. Months after hitting the charts, it was just revealed that the song is actually an ad for Wrigley’s Doublemint gum and part of a larger deal and series, which will be fully revealed tomorrow in NYC — including a new jingle from Chris and tracks from Julianne Hough, Ne-Yo, and more.

Rihanna has won a new hair honour to go with her 2007 `best legs’ accolade.

She has topped a new U.S. magazine poll aimed at naming the stars with the best hairstyles.

Rihanna beat Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston to top the In Touch Best Hair In Hollywood list.

The top five style queens are:

Rihanna sure has covered a lot of magazines ! In just a year she has amassed a collection of over 30, that’s right thirty magazine covers including August’s issue of In Style Magazine.

Dating back to August of last year when she graced the cover of Vibe Vixen she showed no signs of slowing down especially since she was sporting the new “Good Girl Gone Bad” image. It’s not an easy feat for a singer to accrue a wall full of magazine covers. Yes, there are those like Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie who seem to be on the newsstand every time you walk by, but Rihanna has certainly pulled off becoming a household name in a short amount of time.

Last night Rihanna took the stage at the MTV Mobile Bang Concert.

She donned a black zip-up jumpsuit as she wowed the Italian audience with rousing renditions of her hits “Umbrella” and “Breakin’ Dishes.”

As for her love life, Rihanna’s rumored boyfriend Chris Brown has said once and for all that he’s not going to discuss their relationship with the press.

He said, “Nobody wants to focus on what’s positive, they want to know about my personal life. Every interview I do, they’re like, ‘So, how are you and such and such doing?’ And I’m like, I don’t know you, why you all in my business? So that’s my take on it personally.”

Rihanna was spotted with an entourage of her girlfriends as they made their way through the streets of Milan, stopping into boutiques and buying pretty much whatever they wanted.

Gucci’s first full ad campaign for UNICEF will star Rihanna, it has been confirmed.

Rihanna was tapped by the label to represent its collaboration with the United Nation’s Children’s Fund.

“We’ve come a long way from Miss Bisou to Gucci,” she said, referring to her first ad campaign. “We have grown a lot in the endorsement world. It’s an honour to represent Gucci.”
