Rihanna and Chris Brown are still keeping fans guessing about the state of their relationship after they came up with different answers to the dating question at the BET Awards on Tuesday.

Just a day after Brown’s mother cooed about Rihanna at a pre-awards gift lounge event, she was still insisting she’s single.

Speaking on the red carpet at the BET Awards, Rihanna said, “We aren’t dating; we’re very good friends.”

But when Brown was asked if he and Rihanna were an item backstage, he playfully said, “Possibly, possibly!”

And his mom hopes the two really are dating — she was overheard telling a friend, “She’s the sexiest and sweetest girl Chris has ever dated.”

The couple has become inseparable in recent weeks and rumors of a romance were sparked when the pair was spotted kissing and cuddling in a fast food restaurant last month.

When it comes to award shows, the red carpet fashion is almost as important as who actually wins the awards. And Rihanna brought her fashion A-game to the 2008 BET Awards last night.

She arrived on the pre-show red carpet looking amazing in a floor-length cleavage-baring yellow multi-tiered gown.

Turning heads everywhere she walked, she was more than happy to indulge the clamoring paparazzi with a few hot poses before making her way inside the Shrine Auditorium.

Once inside, Rihanna changed into a fashion-forward black stage ensemble before delivering a remarkable performance, a highlight of the entire night.

Rihanna has had her best friend’s date of birth tattooed on her shoulder.

She set gossips whispering last week when she showed off the inking, IV. LXXXVI - the Roman numeral for 4.86.

During an appearance on U.S. TV show The View on Monday (23Jun08), Rihanna revealed the symbol means April 1986; the date of birth of her un-named best friend.

She explains, “It’s Roman numerals. Me and my best friend got the same thing. This is her date of birth and she has mine. I love her so much. More than some of my family. She’s a blood sister.”

No press tour in New York City would be complete without a stop at the Today Show. And Rihanna graced the Summer Concert Series stage this morning with a frenzy-stirring performance.

Rihanna donned a ballerina-style black dress with a multi-colored ruffle and a black train conductor’s hat and a pair of massive black heels as she charmed the audience at the Rockefeller Center stage.

And if you haven’t gotten your fill of Rihanna’s latest album, there’s good news- she’ll be releasing a seventh single off of the ‘reloaded’ version of the album in August.

The song, “Rehab,” was written by superstar duo Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, and features a very What Goes Around…Comes Around-esque vibe.

Following a busy past few days in the Big Apple, Rihanna was back at it again on Thursday afternoon (June 19).

Wearing a floral tube dress with black heel boots, the “Irreplaceable” hitmaker took on hosting duties at an Empire State Building lighting ceremony.

With red lights aglow at the flip of the switch, the special occasion being celebrated is the 3rd Annual Cartier Declare Your Love Day.

As part of the festivities, Cartier will be donating ten percent of all sales from the entire Love collection to benefit charity.

Rihanna is looking all too pretty in a long black blazer atop a red mini as leaves Madison Square Garden on Wednesday in New York City.

She and Ne-Yo were special guests who joined the lineup for the night on Alicia Keys‘ “As I Am Tour”. The duo probably performed their hit “Hate That I Love You.”

The tour has been building upon the unparalleled success of Alicia’s latest album, As I Am, which debuted at #1 and includes the smash hits “No One,” and “Like You’ll Never See Me Again.”

Rihanna is in the Big Apple for a string of publicity appearances, and following her stop at MTV’s Total Request Live yesterday, she was off to yet another gig.

She was spotted arriving at SkyBar for a photo shoot, looking fit and fine in a circa-1984 denim jacket overtop a screenprinted white tank top with a pair of leather pants and knee-high boots.

And after a super long day of television appearances and constant posing for the camera the Good Girl Gone Bad called it a night, heading back to her Midtown Manhattan hotel.

In related news, Rihanna will be competing in the 2008 Teen Choice Awards in three categories, including Choice Music: Single, Choice Music: Female Artist, and Choice Music: R&B Artist.
